Translation from Greek of Lenten homilies of St. John Chrysostom (type "Zlatoust"), with texts by other church fathers, including St. Basil the Great, St. John of Damascus, St. Gregory of Nyssa, St. Anastasius Sinaita, Ephraem Syrus, St. Theodore Studites, Joseph the Confessor, Archbishop of Salonika, St. Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem ("Life of St. Mary of Egypt"), Hesychius of Jerusalem, St. Andrew of Crete, St. Methodius of Olympus. Minor inscriptions on the inside of the front and the back cover. Signed scribal inscription (apology) on leaf 550b with the year and place of copying (7140, i.e. 1632, in Karyes). The scribe also informs us that he has copied 535 signatures in all. Ornamented heading (outlined in drawing) and initials.
